Engineers Australia (EA) Accreditation
In Australia, Engineers Australia is the approved accreditation body for engineering education. Accreditation for Engineering degrees requires the evaluation of university-level programs to ensure graduates meet international benchmarks to practise. Find out more about this on the Engineers Australia website.
Currently, the Swinburne Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) is accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of professional engineer for the Hawthorn Campus, Australia and Sarawak Campus, Malaysia. As accreditation is outcomes-based, if an engineering program hasn’t yet produced a sufficient number of graduates in that location, accreditation cannot be sought. As a new educational institution, Barzan University College does not yet have a sufficient number of graduates for accreditation by Engineers Australia.
Accreditation will be sought for this course as soon as it is feasible to do so within the accreditation timelines set by Engineers Australia. Once fully accredited, graduates will be eligible for graduate membership.
