Barzan University College (BUC) hosted Modern Engineering: Innovation, Impact, Inspiration as part of its ongoing “In Conversation” series, bringing together academic excellence and industry insight.
The session featured Professor Pat Rajeev, Chair, Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, School of Engineering, Eng. Abdul Zameer Sab, representative of Engineers Australia (Doha Chapter), and Mr. Faiz Basheer, Engineer at GHD.

Zameer provided a detailed overview of the methodologies and frameworks shaping modern engineering, as endorsed by Engineers Australia. Mr. Basheer offered a young professional’s perspective on industry transformation—emphasizing the vital role of mentorship and intergenerational collaboration in driving meaningful change.
The session highlighted how global best practices, academic innovation, and local leadership converge to empower the next generation of engineers in Qatar and the immense opportunities for Engineering students of Barzan University College to work alongside industry leaders.
