As part of its “In Conversation” academic series, Barzan University College (BUC) hosted a high-impact session on cybersecurity and innovation: AI & Red Teaming – A Masterclass in Offensive Security Innovation.

The event featured Dr. Atie Kia, Visiting Professor from Swinburne University of Technology, and Mr. Ali Haider, Cybersecurity Expert at Vodafone Qatar.

Dr. Kia delivered a comprehensive breakdown of Red Teaming—guiding the audience through its strategic role in cybersecurity, the operational frameworks behind it, and its growing relevance in both Qatari and Australian job markets. Her insights into offensive security, salary expectations, and AI-driven methodologies provided valuable guidance for aspiring professionals.

Mr. Haider complemented the discussion by sharing real-world insights from the Blue Team perspective, drawing on his experience in defending large-scale infrastructures at Vodafone and other industries in Qatar. Together, the speakers highlighted the ethical responsibilities tied to cybersecurity, emphasizing the use of AI and automation as tools to protect and advance society.
