Swinburne University of Technology’s Director of Transnational Education Partnerships Visits Doha

On 24th July 2025, Barzan University College (BUC) had the distinct honour of hosting Ms. Neema Cucinotta, Director of Transnational Education Partnerships at Swinburne University of Technology (SUT), during her first official visit to Doha since the signing of the landmark BUC–SUT partnership.

This milestone visit marked an important chapter in the strategic collaboration between Swinburne and BUC, as both institutions prepare to offer Qatar’s first Australian degrees this September.

Ms. Cucinotta’s day-long visit was filled with impactful engagements that underscored the strength and momentum of this transnational initiative. Highlights of her visit included:

• Strategic discussionswith BUC’s senior leadership team, aligning on future goals, academic direction, and long-term vision for the partnership.
• Asite visit to the new BUC campus, where she reviewed the progress of the final stages of construction and preparations ahead of the September opening.
• An interactive session with theSales & Marketing team, commending the remarkable traction gained in a short span, testament to the brand resonance and student interest in Australian education.
• Anetworking session with key student recruitment agents, reinforcing regional collaboration and agent engagement as central pillars of BUC’s recruitment strategy.
• The day concluded with anexclusive roundtable dinner, attended by distinguished guests from the Australian Embassy, Australia Qatar Business Association (AQBA), and Doha’s senior community leaders, reflecting the partnership’s growing influence in Qatar’s higher education ecosystem.

The visit not only reaffirmed Swinburne’s commitment to the partnership but also spotlighted the strong progress BUC has made in establishing a world-class academic offering for students in the region.
