Accreditation and Recognition

Is BUC officially recognised in Qatar? Who oversees the academic quality and assessment standards of the program? 

Yes. BUC is fully licensed and approved by the Ministry of Education & Higher Education in Qatar. The program is jointly monitored by the MoEHE in Qatar and Swinburne in Australia.

All applications are processed by Swinburne and both teaching and assessments are rigorously supervised, moderated, and quality-assured by academic teams in accordance with Swinburne’s standards.

Yes. All degrees offered at BUC are Swinburne degrees, identical in content and recognition to those awarded in Australia.

The qualifications are aligned with international academic standards and are delivered in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) in Qatar.

They are also eligible for Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) attestation, ensuring the certificate is recognised both locally and internationally.

Yes. Degrees conferred by Swinburne are recognised and respected by employers, professional bodies, and graduate schools around the world.

Programs and Study Structure

Can I transfer to Swinburne campuses in Australia or Malaysia?

Students who meet the academic requirements may be eligible to transfer to Swinburne’s Melbourne or Sarawak campuses upon completion of the Foundation program or during Undergraduate study.

Students must also meet the relevant visa requirements set by the Australian Department of Home Affairs or Malaysian Immigration Department, depending on the campus of transfer.

The program is delivered full-time and in a face-to-face format at BUC Doha, maintaining the academic integrity and standards set by the awarding university.

Typical program durations are:
  • Foundation Program: Approximately 8–12 months
  • Undergraduate Degree: Typically 3 years of full-time study
  • Postgraduate (Master’s) Degree: Typically 1.5–2 years, depending on the program structure

Admission Requirements

What are the entry requirements for Swinburne Foundation and Undergraduate programs? (Mention the requirement)

Requirements vary by program, but typically include:

  • Completion of high school (IGCSE, O/Ls, A/Ls or equivalent)
  • English language proficiency such as:
    1. IELTS 5.5 overall (no band below 5.0) for Foundation programs
    2. IELTS 6.0 overall (no band below 6.0) for Undergraduate programs
    3. Other equivalent tests such as TOEFL or PTE may also be accepted

Yes, as all instruction is in English, applicants must demonstrate proficiency. If you do not yet meet the requirement, we offer pathways to help you qualify.

Our Career Services Office provides CV support, mock interviews, internships, networking events, and access to job opportunities both locally and internationally.

Yes. BUC is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment. Students with ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, or other learning differences may receive appropriate academic support.
