Barzan University College (BUC) proudly hosted its inaugural Open Day series from 29th June to 2nd July 2025, marking a major milestone in introducing Qatar’s first Australian undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Held across prestigious venues, The Westin Doha and Pullman Hotel West Bay. The four-day series attracted remarkable interest from students and parents eager to explore future-ready academic pathways.

Each day focused on a different academic stream, Business, Computing, Engineering, and Postgraduate Studies, offering prospective students an immersive experience into the world of Swinburne University of Technology’s globally recognized degrees delivered in Qatar through BUC.

The event featured engaging presentations from Swinburne’s academic team, who outlined the academic structure, global transfer opportunities, and career pathways of each program. These were complemented by BUC-led sessions designed to contextualize student life and future success in Qatar and beyond.

A key highlight was the student psychometric test experience, enabling attendees to explore their interests and discover degree options that align with their strengths and aspirations.

The Open Day series was graced by distinguished members of BUC’s senior leadership team, including Dr. Hassan Al Derham (Vice Chairman, BUC) and Eng. Abdur Rahman (Co-Founder & CEO – BUC), who reaffirmed BUC’s commitment to delivering world-class Australian education tailored for the region.

As the momentum continues toward the official opening of BUC in October 2025, this Open Day series marks a significant step in building a vibrant academic community in Qatar.
