In a landmark initiative to foster future-ready talent and deepen bilateral ties, Barzan University College (BUC) and Swinburne University of Technology, in collaboration with the Australian Ambassador to Qatar hosted an exclusive Industry Breakfast Briefing at The Westin Doha on Tuesday, 1 July.
Titled “Future-Focused: Advancing Talent through Industry–Education Engagement,” the event brought together 50 senior leaders from Qatar’s energy, technology, infrastructure, education and finance sectors. The gathering served as a platform for strategic dialogue on workforce development, applied learning, and collaborative innovation between academia and industry.
Keynote presentations from BUC and Swinburne highlighted our shared commitment to addressing skills needs and aligning educational outcomes with national priorities. A dynamic panel discussion and audience Q&A explored best practices in industry–education partnerships, emphasizing the importance of co-designed programs, experiential learning, and cross-sector collaboration.
Guests included representatives from QatarEnergy LNG, Qatar Airways, GHD, Qatar National Bank and Lulu Retail, amongst others. The briefing concluded with a strong call to action for industry leaders to collaborate with educational institutions in shaping a resilient, future-ready talent ecosystem that supports national development and global competitiveness.
